Tooheys was founded by two brothers, James and John in 1869. Their beginning was in the Darling brewery in Sydney. By 1875 they had built a new brewery, which was one of the largest of the period. The new brewery would produce 32,000 gallons per week. In recent years Tooheys has merged with other brewery's and in 1992 it was purchased by Lion Nahtan and is now part of Australia's largest brewing group. The Bedford Stake Bed Truck was perfect for delivering Toohey's Beer throughout Australia.
